280daily: Sum up your day in 280 characters from 280daily on Vimeo.
280daily is the 21st century solution to consistent journaling, enabling you to create a searchable, but completely private archive of your life. With 280daily your entries are secure and can be accessed anywhere in the world.
Signing up takes 30 seconds, once you’ve confirmed your email address you’ll immediately be redirected to your account overview, where you can drag and drop your account overview boxes and add and remove them in your settings. By default we send out one email per day at 4pm to remind you to update your account. The frequency and time of your reminders are also under your control.
Two hundred and eighty characters is roughly 50 words, consuming minimal time from your day. 280daily is optimised for modern mobile devices; we’re constantly working on improving the way you interact with 280daily on the move. The best way to keep a local version of your entries is by generating PDFs using our extensive exporting functionality, additionally, you can print your entries directly, or we can have them professionally bound and posted to you.
Our constantly evolving feature set doesn’t end there, with comprehensive photo support, graphical statistics and an array of preferences; the best way to find out more about 280daily is to give it a try. 280daily is user focussed, and as such, we’re constantly introducing new features based around the feedback we receive from you. Your feedback is essential.
With my memory being what it is, this is quite possibly the most useful web-app I’ve ever encountered.
You know you guys have nailed this website down to a tea. I’m a developer myself and had a similar idea a few months, but later left it.
love it

I LOVE THIS WEBSITE!
Seriously, you guys rock. I’ve never been a journal person, but I’m glad there’s an outlet for me to record my life without having to write a novel. This makes keeping track of my life painless and easy. Can’t thank you enough!
I would like to say that I can’t believe that you have only been up for 28 days I’ve only been using it for 9 and I would not have realised, it’s such a well polished website and system, especially the mobile one. Would not have guessed if it wasn’t for the post.
I use quite a few web services, but your interface is one of the cleanest, best structured and organized interfaces! Thanks and keep up the good work!
Great concept & a beautifully designed site.
I thought of starting a diary this year, but I’m too lazy to write pages and pages so dropped the idea. But after I saw details of your site on TNW, I felt this was exactly the service I was looking for (should be online, secure, short, neat and have a clean interface). Excellent work guys.
Rated 5 out 5 by users.
With being bound to the limit of 280 characters, it challenges you to be pithy and only highlight what really mattered from your day. The other factor that I really love about 280daily is that it’s highly optimized for mobile. Viewing the page from your iPhone, Android device or just about any modern, mobile browser is a joy. Entries are easy to do with a 280 character limit, and I think that should make for more consistent journaling, at least on my part.
5 out of 5 – What 280daily can offer that a traditional journal can’t – in addition to security and ease-of-use – is a wide variety of searching and tracking tools. Curious about the date of your first kiss with your longtime beau? Search for his name – plus the word kiss – in your 280daily archives. Similarly, you can use 280daily’s tools to track the average word count of your entries and see how those word counts have varied over time. For tech-loving diary-phobes, 280daily is a micro journaling app that nobody can say no to.
Some people like to write lengthy pages about how their day was spent but many shy away from the task due to its time-consuming nature. 280daily is a free micro diary that allows you to record your day’s activities in 280 characters or less so you can always read it later, archive it and even search it.
280daily is a great choice for an online journal; that is as long as the user is only interested in very short entries. The 280 character limit has many benefits, as long as the format meets the user’s needs. Overall, the site is easy to use and offers a helpful tool for keeping records, to do lists, notes and more.
I found this little gem a month ago, and what can I say ? I’m in MAD MAD love with it. It’s a free online application that lets you sum up your entire day in 280 characters . The simple notion of writing down your achievements (and reviewing them) lets you refine your workflow: What did I accomplish today ? What did I do ? Using it has dramatically improved my productivity.
Secure, completely private, encrypted and safe.
I’m using it as a tool for short daily reflection. It’s quick. It’s easy. And, it only requires an internet connection, about 3 minutes, and my thoughts. You can read any of your past entries whenever you want, you can set reminders in email to remind you to write (if you want), you can go back and write for a previous day, and more. You can even export your entries as a PDF file, print them yourself or in the future have them printed in bound book form.
280daily provides one of the most robust sets of configurable options we’ve seen in a while. It’s fitting given the personal nature of the site. It allows you to configure everything from the text on the new entry page as well as the landing page you arrive at when you log in. It even lets you configure a secondary landing page in case the one you selected doesn’t have any content that day… 280daily is an innovative blend of online technology and a centuries old pastime.
What I like about this site is it would be good for journaling, or blogging, without actually using a blog site. Sometimes you just want to remind yourself of something funny or sweet that happened, but it slips away before you can email yourself or get to your laptop. With 280daily.com, you could send it right to the site from your phone, and then relive later on. I really like that idea.
280daily is a cool micro-blogging startup website that lets you write a summary of your day in 280 characters. The size is larger than a tweet and much smaller than a typical blog post, should not take more than 5 minutes to note your day. Your data is kept private and hosted on secure website using SSL technology.
Right now I am using it to record thoughts on two main things – my career and my workout achievements. And I shouldn’t miss a day because I have set up my profile to email me a reminder every day at 7:00pm.
For me personally it helps to keep a very short summary of the important tasks I have done during the day. Sign up for a website like 280daily.com, it gives you 280 characters to sum up your day. You can select to get a notification email before you sleep to remind you to fill in your summary of the day.
Among them was a cool site you could use for Daily Gratitude Lists. The site is called 280daily. The idea of the site is to sum up your day in 280 characters. I know my journal entries are often lists of what I did in a day or what stood out to me in a day. 280daily offers that you could use it for a journal, traveling, business, sports (track your progress toward a marathon), food diary, target progress, backwards to-do list. I’m sure the possibilities are endless.
The first thing you’ll notice after signing up is that everything is encrypted under secure SSL, making clear they’re serious about privacy and security… Constant improvement makes 280daily an exciting platform. Along with the standard desktop website comes a well designed mobile interface, native iPhone and Android apps are on their way. 280daily is simple, but a joy to use. The interface is clean and quick, the ability to customize and move around your account overview is intuitive and something a bit different.
Could you sum up your day in 280 characters? That is the basic question that this site is asking. And if you think you are up for the challenge, you can join in and begin keeping a private microjournal. You will be able to document every incident that you think has any significance, and the way that it has made you feel.
This isn’t a killer app for everyone, but I’m loving it right now. I also e-mailed the developer with a feature request, at 4:30AM, and he e-mailed back within minutes. I probably got lucky and caught him at the perfect time, but regardless I’m impressed. Can’t wait to see what the future brings for 280 Daily.
What happened to those hand-written diaries we used to keep as kids growing up? I had three of those during my teenage years, but once I became an independent, grown woman, those diaries went straight to the attic. 280daily invites us to revisit the personal diary tradition by offering a free and private documenting service where each day you can use up to 280 characters to describe your day.
So what makes 280 Daily the most complete? It is the numerous features that are available and the ability to post from your mobile browser as well. You can sign up for daily email reminders so you don’t forget to write your entry. There are statistics that let you know about your writing as well. When completed you can also export your entries to a PDF, save them, print them, and share it. The overview view of your account looks stunning…in my opinion and offers users freedom to change appearance and organization of the overview tab.
We’ve put together a Tumblr theme based on Back & Forth, take a look at Clean Detail, it’s a relatively customisable theme that’s clean and simple.
